Procurement Manager – Jeram, Selangor

Company Overview

The company is a new and upcoming food company specializing in value added natural food products and new concept beverages. It aims to be an innovative and responsible member of the world food supply chain. The parent company has had many years in the food commodity business and with this new entity, the companyhope to reach out to even more end-consumers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to General Manager/Director
  • Responsible on managing and purchasing and planning for the factory in accordance to company policies and procedures
  • Overseeing procurement and warehouse to resolve receiving and quality issues
  • Handle warehouse management from receiving and verifying in-coming materials and packing products to load and ship product, managing inventory turns, execute, track and audit all incoming and outgoing loads, optimizing product and location dimensions to maximize storage capacity, managing organization of facility to decrease bottlenecks and product damage
  • Lead and perform supplier sourcing, evaluation, assessment and selection, negotiation, performance monitoring, relationship management and continuous improvement for the company
  • Responsible of daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing and follow up on delivery schedules. Monitoring stock levels to minimise supply chain disruptions
  • Negotiate annual buys and contract agreements for raw materials, former, former holders, conveyor chain and consumable products whether it is directly or indirectly involved in the production
  • Deal with supplier on any quality issue, product sample, pricing and etc
  • Coordinate for 2-way communication between the company and suppliers
  • Develop, maintain and improve the purchase strategies on the existing or new purchases
  • Monitoring and controlling resources and overseeing the spending of money
  • Making decisions, solving problems, analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by superior or Management from time to time

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least Diploma or Degree in Business Studies / Administration / Management, Supply Chain / Procurement / Logistic or equivalent from reputable universities
  • At least 5 years of working experience in the related field required for this position (with 3 years management experience at executive level)
  • Manufacturing industry knowledge and experience in the project procurement & sourcing and logistic activities will be an added advantage
  • Must be professional, matured, responsible and reliable to maintain utmost confidentiality when handling important documents and sensitive matters
  • Good working knowledge of contract law and tendering.
  • Excellent negotiation, written and verbal communications skills
  • Proven capability in executing the Procurement and Sourcing activities
  • Proven experience in working independently with cross functional teams to ensure cost control and process improvements
  • Knowledge and experience in SQL environment and Microsoft Office
  • Good command of English & Mandarin (spoken and written)
  • Willing to work in Jeram, Selangor
